what's wrong ?

Grumpy and I went to sim lim last weekend to buy a webcam/mic contraption . This is after being blown away by the awesomeness that is Skype (and Henry's insistence) It's marvellous what we can do with the internet nowadays. The clarity of the video call and being able to see Grumpy's folks all the way in the Phillipines was wünderbar. And all for free !! (it IS free right ?)


I have tried in vain to get the bloody mic to work. I have stuck the jack in every hole possible. The only place which looks remotely correct is the pink colour port behind the cpu - this is because a box pops up which has the words 'mic-in' and there's a tick in a little box next to it. And also there's this flashing mic icon. That's gotta be telling me something right ?

Sticking it in the front does not bring up this box though. Indeed very frustrating. Just the act of plugging the damn thing behind is difficult. I have to bend down, my legs so long then must squint squint to find the hole.



I have put master volume of mic to max, its not muted or anything but yet still refuses to work. So what's wrong ?
