heard it through the grapevine

A little birdie (my mom) told me something yesterday and made me swear to keep to myself. Hmmm, very unlike my mother.

Dr T rang my dad yesterday afternoon with the news that he has intentions of promoting me. (HURRAH!) This will be based in Mt E. He told my dad that he has heard 'rumblings from the ground' that I don't want to be relocated. How very strange. I smell politics.

I find it highly coincidental that on the very same day (yesterday) there was also a circular going round that our American CEO will not be renewing his contract.

I feel great knowing that my 3 weeks in KL were not a complete waste and that my research is worth something.

Mum says to casually ask Dr T what he thinks of the report in a few days time cos have not heard anything from him yet. It has been slightly more than a month. No news is always good news, right ?
