the Au-Chews

There was certainly no lack of photographers at yesterday's ROM. Henry, Matt and I came with our Nikons whilst Abel showed up with his Canon.
In the actual room where the registry took place, it was like a press conference.

I didn't look very glam takin shots but oh well. I'm happy with quite a few of them including this

Thanks Ms Chong !

the first BC

Today at 3.10pm , I will bear witness to a BFF ROM. (a first !)

I cannot think of a more better union - except maybe 'Ro-Chelle' (which everyone can thank me for later) I wish the Au-Chews a lifetime of happiness. I hope I don't cry. MUAKS.

ah mah

I was very surprised to learn that my paternal grandmother could still remember me after having not seen her for a year plus. She'll have her off days, but it makes me happy she can recognise me despite her dementia.

Dad has brought her from Sydney to stay in a nursing home in Singapore for a while over the new year.

These days she only worries about 2 things. Her keys and her bank book.

Her face is always knotted up in a big frown, dad finally got her to smile.

apparently

In 2009, laksa resolves to...
Ask my boss for a clubbin.
Give some macadamias to charity.
Cut down to ten movies a day.
Keep my tv clean.
Take evening classes in chillin.
Buy new lava lamps.
Get your own New Year's Resolutions:

I actually do need to buy another lava lamp. The yellow one my brother bought me for my birthday is still in Melbourne.

golden anniversary

Imagine being married 50 years... amazing. Half a century ..!

Come Feb 8 , Grumpy's parents would have been together 50 years. They intend to renew their vows at the same church they got married in. So sweet !

It will also be the first time I will meet his clan. All 100 of them - not exactly but his immediate family is already 4 sisters 5 brothers (or is it the other way round? I forget) so am expecting a big group.

Dresscode for men is , Barong Tagalog. I asked him what's that and the best way he could describe it was 'pineapple thread' sheesh.

Here is Mr Tarantino rockin it. It's a kinda sheer, embroidered top.. I wouldn't say shirt, the buttons only go halfway.

Ladies dresscode is 'Filipiniana'. Looks kinda Nyonya-ish to me.

let's play

My gaming life has been put on hold ever since getting with Grumpy. (If I play too long and neglect him , he gets cranky and moody and narky)

He thinks games are for kids and he said he wouldn't be caught dead carrying a PSP on the bus. Whenever he spots a grown man bashing furiously on a PSP he'll nudge me and shake his head. Gradually but ever so slowly, I have introduced it into his lifestyle. From playing PS2 with him to getting him a PSP and loading some boring NBA shit on it. (he is now ONE of those grown men playing on the bus. success!)

But last Saturday was my greatest achievement. We went into a LAN SHOP, complete with teenage kids and everything !

I taught him how to play left 4 dead and now he keeps asking me when we can go again. I have recently found out that Mr. Au is also a left 4 dead player. Now if I can just convince Ms. Chew that it's not absolute garbage, we can all go for a full-on campaign. JEEBUS !
